What to expect when you join our friendly ownership community

Ownership at Skiddaw View is about more than just the holiday home – it’s about being part of a welcoming community in a peaceful Lake District setting. Discover what daily life is like, from facilities and support to pets, rules and the owner community spirit.

Does the park have rules?

Yes - to keep the park safe, tidy and enjoyable. You can view them here or request a copy from the office.

How do I make the most of my holiday home?

Owners further away often take longer stays; local owners tend to visit more frequently for shorter breaks. Pick a pattern that suits your lifestyle and make it part of your routine.

How long do owners stay at Skiddaw View?

Many of our owners stay with us for decades — we even have multi-generational families who've owned holiday homes here for over 40 years. Others enjoy their home for a few years before moving on, and recently we've even welcomed back former owners who have returned to Skiddaw View, which is an incredible honour.

What support do you provide?

We're on site daily. We'll help directly where we can or put you in touch with trusted local trades for specialist work.

Why choose Skiddaw View over other parks?

We're family-owned and run, not a chain. You'll know the team by name, and the atmosphere is friendly, relaxed and award-winning.

What makes ownership special here?

Peace and privacy, plus a genuine community feel. No noisy clubhouse - just a beautiful, well-kept park in the Lakes to unwind with family and friends.

What happens if something breaks?

Routine maintenance is the owner's responsibility, but we're here to help. We can arrange services such as gas checks, boiler servicing and winter drain-downs, and we're always happy to put you in touch with trusted local contractors for anything more specialised.

What facilities are on site?

No clubhouse or shop (a big part of the appeal for many owners). We host casual get-togethers like coffee mornings. Park-wide Wi-Fi is available, and we can help set up a personal mobile router if you prefer.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes - we're a pet-friendly park. We have a dedicated dog shower, a secure dog play area, and a fantastic dog walk with views across the fells and over the Solway Firth towards Scotland (not that the dogs ever notice the scenery!).

Can friends and family use my holiday home?

Yes - non-commercial use by close friends and family is welcome.

What happens when I'm not here?

The park is managed year-round; owners tell us they feel reassured their homes are in safe hands.

Is there a sense of community?

Very much so - friendly and supportive, while respecting everyone's privacy.

What's nearby if there's no clubhouse or shop?

Local pubs, shops and supermarkets are a short drive away, and the Lake District's lakes, walks and attractions are on the doorstep.
