Sizes, features & finishes inside today’s holiday homes

Modern holiday homes and lodges are stylish, spacious and fully equipped, with all the comforts you’d expect from a contemporary home. Here we explore the sizes, layouts, features, technology and warranties you can expect from today’s models.

What are holiday homes like inside today?

Modern holiday homes and lodges are stylish, spacious and fully furnished - often with integrated appliances such as fridge-freezers, dishwashers, washing machines and even wine coolers. Everything you would see in a high-end apartment can be available inside today's holiday homes.

Are holiday homes new or pre-owned?

We usually have a mix of both; listings clearly show whether a home is brand new or pre-owned and its remaining licence term.

Are holiday homes fully furnished?

Yes. New homes are fully furnished and fitted. Pre-owned homes may have minor changes (noted in the listing). You'll typically only need smaller essentials like crockery or a TV.

What size are holiday homes?

As a typical guide: Static Caravans tend to be around 32–42 ft long, 12–14 ft wide; Single Lodges will be around 13–15 ft wide, up to 43 ft long; while Twin-unit Lodges will be 20–22 ft wide and up to 44 ft long.

Do holiday homes have heating and insulation?

Yes. All modern holiday homes have central heating, double glazing and insulation. Lodges are BS3632 for year-round use; caravans are usually EN1647, with many models available to BS3632 with winter packs.

How long does a holiday home last?

As a guide: caravans typically last 20–25 years; lodges 25–30+ years, depending on build specification and maintenance.

Do holiday homes hold their value or do they depreciate?

Yes, holiday homes do depreciate. They are manufactured products rather than bricks-and-mortar property, so their value reduces over time. The steepest depreciation is usually in the first one to three years, before the rate tends to level out. Factors such as condition, park desirability, and market conditions affect resale value. A well-maintained home on a sought-after park will achieve stronger resale than one sold off-site. The remaining licence term also influences value. Holiday homes should be viewed as a lifestyle investment, with the true return being enjoyment, relaxation and family time.

Is buying a holiday home a good investment?

Not financially. Holiday homes depreciate and we don't allow sub-letting, so they should be considered a lifestyle investment, not an income-generating one.

Do holiday homes require maintenance?

Holiday homes need a little care. Owners should maintain their decking with park-approved stain/colour, arrange an annual gas safety test and ensure caravans are drained down in winter. We can arrange these services, and catching issues early is always most cost-effective.

Do holiday homes come with a warranty?

Yes. New holiday homes include manufacturer warranties (some elements up to 10 years). Pre-owned coverage varies - ask for details.

Do holiday homes have Wi-Fi and modern technology?

Yes. Many include USB sockets, TV points and integrated appliances. Wi-Fi is available across the park, and owners can also arrange their own dedicated connection with a 4G router and SIM.

Are holiday homes suitable for people with limited mobility?

Some holiday home models offer accessibility features such as wider doors and adapted bathrooms. While the geography of our park means it may not always be ideal for all mobility needs, ramps can be fitted to certain decking areas. Let us know your requirements and we'll advise on the best options.

How secure are holiday homes?

All holiday homes have secure locks. The park is managed year-round for peace of mind with wardens and long-standing owners present on site.
