There are many opportunities for many different types of walk provided within the Lake District. From fell walking to a peaceful stroll along a lake there really is something for everyone. For every type of walker we have a route so there really is no excuse. Most routes are pet friendly so Rover can come along too!
Feel free to print out and bring along the walking routes below courtesy of Keswick.org , Lake District National Park and GoLakes. We would also suggest purchasing the suggested Ordinance Survey map (below) or from your local retailer.
The Lake District National Park Authority has put together almost 40 walks across the National Park suitable for people with less mobility, wheel chair users, families with push chairs, dog walkers with less active dogs and the visually impaired. Each route has been tested by local residents using wheel chairs and a grading scheme applied. For more information and to view these routes please visit the website Lake-District.gov.uk
To make it a little easier for when planning your walks in the area, here are some links to buy your OS Maps and some other good walking route book. Also maybe if you’re more into 'arm chair walker' there is "Wainwright Walks Complete Collection" DVD. These are available via Amazon.co.uk.
