Theatre by the Lake

Set on the shores of Derwentwater in Keswick, Theatre by the Lake is Cumbria's only year-round professional producing theatre. Alongside hosting a wide range of visiting drama, music, dance, talks, comedy and film, the theatre also offers a summer season of six eclectic plays, a christmas show for all the family and a spring production.

Tullie House

Close to the borders of England and Scotland and to the Lake District, Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery is a meeting point of the History, Nature and Art in one of Britainís most fascinating regions. The rich collections are a resource of local, regional and national importance.

Wordsworth House

Wordsworth House is a lovely Georgian townhouse located at the heart of Cockermouth was the birthplace and childhood home of romantic poet William Wordsworth and his sister Dorothy.Presented as their bustling family home, it offers an unforgettable chance for all ages to see, smell, hear, touch and even taste what it was like to live in the 1770s.

Carlisle Castle

Standing strongly in the city it has dominated for nine centuries, Carlisle Castle was a constantly updated working fortress until well within living memory. Now its rich and varied visitor attractions reflect its long and eventful history. Even before the medieval castle was begun, this site was an important Roman fortress.
