Bassenthwaite Area
Located between the towns of Cockermouth and Keswick, Bassenthwaite Lake is one of the largest lakes measuring almost 4 miles long, but however is one of the shallowest. A short distance from the Lake is the village of Bassenthwaite this small village is set in the shadow of Skiddaw. In addition to Bassenthwaite village there is also a number of other small villages and hamlets in this area including: Bothel, Sunderland, Mealsgate and Braithwaite.

Keswick is a vibrant and bustling market town on the edge of Derwentwater (a lake quite rightly regarded as 'The Queen of Lakes'). Keswick is a popular town offering a vast range of tourist attractions, shops, pubs, restaurants along with museums and a range of activities both land and water based in the surrounding area.
In addition the town holds a number of events, festivals and conventions including: Beer Festival, Mountain Festival and the Keswick Convention; to name a few.

Cockermouth Area
Cockermouth is quaint market town, set at the confluence of the rivers Cocker and Derwent, although dating back to the medieval era the main period of growth for the town was during the Georgian period of the early eighteenth century.
The town was the birth place for famous poet William Wordsworth and offers a range of traditional stores, art galleries, places of historical interest and a number of bars, restaurants and pubs.
